Ceravéa™ Hybrid Veneers
Ceravéa™ hybrid veneers in Sydney: a considered middle ground between composite and porcelain
Ceravéa™ is Dental Lounge's hybrid veneer, crafted from a resin-matrix ceramic: a fine ceramic network infused with a polymer. It sits between composite and porcelain, offering greater durability and colour stability than composite, with its own set of trade-offs compared with porcelain.
Each Ceravéa veneer is designed digitally around the proportions of your face, then milled in our in-house laboratory. Where clinically suitable, this allows veneers to be placed within 24 hours of preparation. Your suitability, and the option that best fits your goals, is assessed at your consultation.
What are Ceravéa™ hybrid veneers?
Are Ceravéa™ veneers right for you?
Ceravéa veneers are thin, custom-made restorations bonded to the front surface of the teeth. Because the material blends ceramic with a polymer, it is more resilient and shock-absorbing than conventional porcelain, and gentler on the opposing teeth.
Depending on your clinical assessment, Ceravéa veneers may be considered to:
- Address discolouration that has not responded to whitening
- Refine the shape, length or proportion of teeth
- Close small gaps or spaces
- Restore minor chips and worn edges
- Improve the overall balance and symmetry of your smile
Are Ceravéa™ veneers right for you?
Ceravéa veneers can be a considered option for many patients seeking cosmetic improvements, but they are not suitable for everyone. They may be worth discussing if you:
- Would like more durability and colour stability than composite offers
- Prefer a shorter treatment timeline than porcelain, where clinically suitable
- Have an upcoming date you’d like to plan treatment around
- Have healthy teeth and gums, free from active decay or gum disease
If you have significantly crooked teeth, or concerns such as decay, gum disease or bite issues, we may recommend addressing these first, for example with clear aligners, gum treatment or restorative care.
The Ceravéa™ veneers process: what to expect
At Dental Lounge, every Ceravéa case follows a meticulous, collaborative process, so you understand each step before anything begins.
- Initial consultation. We discuss your goals, assess your teeth, gums and bite, and talk through all three veneer options so you can make an informed choice.
- Digital Smile Design. We take photographs, digital scans and a 3D facial scan to plan proportions that complement your features. You can explore what’s possible and review the design with us, and where suitable, trial it on your own teeth before anything is made.
- Preparation. The tooth surface is gently reshaped or roughened so the veneers can bond securely. The amount needed varies from case to case, and because some natural tooth structure is reduced, this step is not reversible.
- Milling and placement. Your veneers are milled in our in-house laboratory, finished and carefully bonded. Where clinically suitable, placement can take place within 24 hours of preparation; some cases are completed over two visits.
- Review and protection. Around one week later, we check your bite, make any refinements and polish. You’ll also receive a custom nightguard to help protect your veneers.
If dental visits make you feel anxious, sedation options are available, subject to assessment, so you can feel at ease throughout treatment.

The Craft
Every Ceravéa veneer begins with design, not a template.
Designed for your face3D facial scanning and Digital Smile Design help us plan tooth proportions in relation to your eye line, lip movement and jawline. |
Milled in-houseEach veneer is milled from a solid ceramic-polymer block in our own laboratory, keeping your dentist and the lab closely connected throughout your case. |
Finished and maintainedCeravéa is polished rather than glazed, so its surface is maintained with gentle mechanical polishing at your review appointments. |

Important to know
Veneers involve reducing some natural tooth structure, which is irreversible. As with any dental procedure, there are risks, including temporary sensitivity, chipping or loosening, slight differences in shade, darkening at the gum line and, occasionally, the need for root canal treatment. Wearing your nightguard each night and attending regular hygiene visits help protect your veneers over time. Your dentist will discuss the risks, alternatives and maintenance with you in detail before you decide.

The Knowledge
A dental implant is a titanium post surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath your gum line. The final result is an artificial tooth that looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth.
If you’d like to improve the overall colour, shape, and positioning of your smile, veneers could be the perfect solution.

FAQs
The investment depends on the number of veneers, the complexity of your Digital Smile Design and whether any preparatory treatment is needed. After your consultation, you’ll receive a personalised written treatment plan outlining your options and fees.
Longevity depends on your bite, habits and how your veneers are cared for. Ceravéa is a newer material: it performs well in early studies of similar restorations, but it does not yet have the decades of veneer data that porcelain has, so we don’t quote a fixed lifespan. Wearing your nightguard and attending regular hygiene visits help protect your veneers, and if they need renewing in future, they can generally be replaced.
No. Porcelain remains the established long-term benchmark and the most stain-resistant option. Ceravéa is more durable and colour-stable than composite, and offers a shorter timeline where suitable. Your dentist will help you weigh these trade-offs against your goals.
Because Ceravéa veneers are milled in our in-house laboratory, placement can often take place within 24 hours of preparation, where clinically suitable. Some cases need two visits, and your timeline is confirmed at your consultation.
Ceravéa holds its colour better than composite, but can stain more than porcelain over time. Its surface is maintained with gentle polishing at your review appointments, and limiting heavily staining foods and drinks helps.
Preparing teeth for veneers involves reducing some natural tooth structure, which cannot be reversed. Veneers will also need maintenance and, eventually, replacement, so it’s worth planning for ongoing care.
A partial rebate may be available depending on your fund and level of cover, although cosmetic treatment is often not rebatable. We can provide the relevant item numbers so you can request a pre-treatment estimate from your fund.
Brush and floss gently each day, attend your regular hygiene visits and wear your nightguard every night. Avoid biting very hard foods, nails or packaging, and contact us early if anything feels different. Maintenance appointments incur an additional charge.
