Dental Implants
Where missing teeth, irreparable decay or broken teeth occur, dental implants offer a highly successful and aesthetic solution – and they’re not as invasive as you may think.
Our team has placed more than 1,000 implants each year, and we are always delighted at the transformation in confidence and renewed day-to-day comfort our patients’ experience.
Need to know:
The type of tooth implants used during treatment is a key consideration. At Dental Lounge, we offer access to one of the world’s best: Nobel Biocare implants from Sweden, which are renowned for their innovative materiality and quality.
All On 4, Sinus Lifts and Bone Grafting
All On 4 Dental Implants
Where loose, broken teeth or ill-fitting dentures are problematic, All On 4 is a highly effective solution to restore more than one tooth. It’s a full set of upper or lower teeth – or a fixed bridge – that is placed on four supporting dental implants.
Sinus Lifts
Occasionally, when placing an implant in the upper jaw, we may need to utilise the air-filled space known as the sinus. This involves raising the floor of the sinus to create more bone support for the implant.
Bone Grafting
If you have been missing a tooth for a long time, you may need additional bone placed into the affected area, to help the implant fuse strongly. Grafting refers to the placement of additional bone to the area.
Duration: Where sinus lifts or bone grafting is needed, a period of approximately 6 months is required to complete the treatment, however this varies depending on your needs.
What are the benefits of dental implants?
Dental implants offer a superior solution for tooth replacement, combining functionality, aesthetics, and long-term results. Here’s why our patients trust this transformative procedure:
-
- Natural appearance — Dental implants are preferred for their natural look and feel. Our team customises the porcelain crown attached to the implant to match the shape, size and colour of your existing teeth so that it blends in seamlessly.
- Longevity — Permanent dental implants are a long-term solution that can last a lifetime with proper care, offering unmatched durability.
- Improved functionality — Dental implants can restore full chewing ability, so you can enjoy all your favourite foods without worry. Additionally, implants help maintain the strength and density of the jawbone, preventing bone loss.

Who is a good candidate for dental implants?
Dental implant treatment is a versatile solution for many people, but it’s important to determine if you’re a suitable candidate. Here’s who can benefit most:
- Individuals with one or more missing teeth — Whether you’re missing a single tooth or several, tooth implants can restore your smile, offering durability and functionality that other tooth replacement options can’t match.
- Patients with healthy gums and sufficient jawbone density — A strong foundation is crucial for implant success. If you have gum disease or are experiencing bone loss, our expert team can also administer supplementary procedures like bone grafting or sinus lifts, which may be required to prepare for the implants.
- Those seeking long-term solutions — Patients looking for a reliable, permanent dental implant solution often find this treatment ideal. Compared to dentures, dental implants provide a more stable and natural-feeling solution that doesn’t slip or require adhesives.
If you’re unsure about your suitability for implants, our team of experts in Sydney dental implants will guide you through a personalised assessment to create the best plan for your smile.
The Process & Experience
All that is needed for the dental implant procedure to be successful is to put titanium in contact with bone, which will grow on to the implant.
At Dental Lounge, this treatment is highly collaborative and personalised. You will be guided by one of our practitioners throughout the entire process, from the initial consultation to the finished result.
Dental implants are titanium screws that are placed into the jawbone. The bone then develops with the titanium screw in place, to form a near-perfect and unbreakable union. A porcelain tooth is then attached to the implant. The result is a beautiful tooth that looks and feels like a real tooth yet doesn’t decay. Depending on your needs, a sinus lift, or bone grafting may also be required.
We also offer a range of highly effective sedation methods to ensure your comfort at every stage of the treatment. Learn more about our sleep dentistry options.

About dental implants and teeth replacement
Dental implants Sydney
What are dental implants? Dental implants are a procedure to replace missing teeth. In the dental implant procedure, the root of the natural tooth is replaced with a metal cylinder shaped like a screw, which is inserted directly into the jaw and permanently replaces the missing tooth. The implant has three parts: the screw, known as a post or fixture; an abutment, which is the extension of the post and connects the implant below and the implant crown; and a dental crown that artificially replaces the tooth and sits on top of the abutment.
In addition to having the same appearance, it fulfils the same function as real teeth. One of the advantages of having a dental implant is that when it is placed in the jaw, there is a bone healing process, so it fuses with the jawbone, which allows the bone density to be preserved, and there is no risk that it will slip or damage the bone.
Sydney implant cost
Dental implants cost usually vary, and it often depends on factors such as how many teeth are to be replaced, if the tooth needs to be extracted and if you need bone grafting or sinus lift. Book your complimentary consultation to discuss your dental needs.
FAQs
Dental implants involve placing a titanium post into the jawbone, which serves as an artificial tooth root. Over time, the bone fuses with the implant to create a stable foundation for a crown or bridge. This dental implant treatment restores your ability to chew, speak and smile confidently.
Check out some of our patients’ dental implants before and after experiences above to see the transformative results.
Yes, dental implants are permanent, designed to last a lifetime with proper care. The titanium post integrates with your jawbone, creating a durable and long-lasting solution. While the crown may need replacement over time, the implant itself remains a permanent fixture in your mouth.
The dental implant treatment is a multi-step process that includes:
- Consultation and planning — Your dentist will assess your overall oral health and create a personalised treatment plan to meet your goals, ensuring a comfortable and effective experience.
- Implant design and placement — Advanced imaging technology is used to precisely design and plan the placement of the implant for optimal results. Then, the titanium post is surgically inserted into the jawbone.
- Healing and osseointegration — Over several months, the bone fuses with the implant.
- Restoration — A custom crown, bridge or denture is attached, completing your new smile.
The timeline for dental implant treatment varies depending on individual needs. Typically, the process takes 3 to 6 months, including healing time for osseointegration. However, the overall timeline may extend slightly if additional procedures like bone grafting or sinus lifts are required.
Getting a dental implant is generally well-tolerated, as patients undergo the procedure using local anaesthesia or sedation for maximum comfort. Some mild discomfort or swelling may occur during recovery, but this is manageable with pain relief and post-procedure care. Our patients often describe the process as worth it and life-changing, relieving chronic pain from missing teeth or ill-fitting dentures.
Permanent dental implants will last a lifetime with proper care. The crown or prosthetic attached to the implant may need replacement every 10–15 years due to normal wear, but the implant itself is incredibly durable. Maintaining good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups ensures longevity.
No, caring for dental implants is simple and mirrors routine oral hygiene:
- Brush twice daily and floss around the implant.
- Use a non-abrasive toothpaste to protect the crown.
- Make regular dentist appointments for professional cleanings and check-ups.
- Proper care ensures your implants stay in excellent condition, as seen in our before and after dental implant results.
Yes, a dental implant treatment is a safe and well-established procedure with high success rates. With our experienced professionals at Dental Lounge, implants are a reliable and effective solution to restore missing teeth. We also use Nobel Biocare implants, which are renowned for their safety, quality and durability.
Absolutely! Dental implants can replace multiple teeth or even an entire arch. For multiple missing teeth, options like implant-supported bridges or All On 4 dental implants provide a stable and aesthetic solution. Rest assured, our team will create a personalised treatment plan to ensure your dental implant solution looks natural, feels comfortable and restores full functionality.
